Feeling Ílhavo Sea Festival
It is already next weekend that come to us the Tall ships in the world! From 5th to 8th August they will be in the North Terminal of the Port of Aveiro – Gafanha da Nazaré some of the largest and mythical sailboats.
It is a very cherished event by the municipality of Ílhavo for promoting the celebration of maritime culture of the region. Will feature many nautical activities, entertainment at Pier, concerts and craft shows. During these days you can also visit the participants sailing boats and interact with the crew in a truly multicultural festival. On the last day of the event, Monday August 8th will take place the long-awaited Naval Outgoing Parade from Praia da Barra. Get access to all the program at http://ilhavoseafestival.pt/
Sentir Aveiro promotes these days of Ílhavo Sea Festival a thematic tour to provide its customers with a deeper knowledge of the history of cod fishing and traditions linked to these tal ships.
The tour FEELING ÍLHAVO SEA FESTIVAL includes lunch with tasting of typical dishes of cod, travel to Oudinot Garden in Gafanha of Nazare and accompanied visit to the ship museum St. André; walking by the Ílhavo Sea Festival and visit accompanied to one of the tall ships present there. In the final, pass through the Porto Bacalhoeiro where, in addition to all deep-sea fishing vessels,is the mythical ship Argus, A. Villiers movie protagonist on cod fishing in Newfoundland “The Quest of the Schooner Argus”. The price of this tour is 45 € per person all inclusive (transport, lunch, entrance on the ship museum and guide).
